The single most common mistake on a first order is the size. Many Weidian and Taobao sellers use Asian sizing, which often runs one size smaller than EU/US — but not always, so the only reliable method is to measure.
How to measure (5 minutes)
- Take a piece you own that fits the way you like (same type: hoodie for a hoodie, jeans for jeans).
- Lay it flat. Measure chest (pit to pit, then double it if the chart shows full chest), length (top of shoulder to hem) and sleeve. For pants: waist, inseam, thigh and leg opening.
- Compare with the seller's size chart in centimetres (agents translate it). Pick the size closest to your measurements, not the letter.
Rules of thumb
- Streetwear brands like Essentials and Corteiz are cut oversized/boxy — measurements matter more than the label.
- For sneakers, use EU size and your foot length in cm; check whether the model runs large or small at retail.
- Between sizes? For tops size up; for fitted items (polos, knits, jeans) compare waist and chest carefully.
- Ask the warehouse to measure in the QC photos if the chart is unclear.
